A 30-year-old Ukrainian citizen was traveling with his friend, wife and six-month-old child. He drove across the sidewalk into the parking lot, where he hit two parked cars. Penalty? Up to three years in prison. Car confiscation? Cannot be applied because there are more owners.

The incident took place last weekend in Czerwionka-Leszczyny at Kolejowa Street. According to police officers from the Rybnik traffic police, the Volkswagen driver most likely did not adjust his speed to the road conditions, lost control of the vehicle and hit a road marking post. Then, driving across the sidewalk, he drove into a nearby parking lot and hit two properly parked vehicles.

The driver was detained. It turned out to be a 30-year-old citizen Ukraine. He had over 3.5 per mille of alcohol in his body. He was traveling with his wife, a friend and a six-month-old child. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

– The man was fined for causing a collision and will also have to repair the damage to the damaged cars. He had a Polish driving license, which was detained. After sobering up, he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, which is punishable by up to three years in prison. Vehicle confiscation cannot be applied because the driver is only a co-owner of the car he was driving – explains BogusÅ‚awa Kobeszko, spokeswoman for the police in Rybnik.
