Two threads of investigation, one discontinued

The prosecutor’s office checked two threads. The first one concerned causing a fire that threatened the life and health of many people and large-scale property, as a result of which two patients died.

– This thread was discontinued due to the fact that the fire was probably caused by one of the injured patients. Analysis of monitoring records and interviewing witnesses did not make it possible to determine which of them started the fire. Besides, they both died – explains Ozimek.

The second thread is now the only investigation and concerns the exposure of patients of the neurology department to the direct threat of loss of life by the staff of this facility as a result of improper patient care.
