The 48-year-old driver ignored the red light that prevented him from continuing to drive around the track. As a result, it collided with another train in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Nobody was hurt, but four wagons derailed and two overturned, one of the locomotives was damaged. The 48-year-old had over two alcohol levels in his body.
The 48-year-old engine driver who was supposed to crash two trains in Dąbrowa Górnicza in the Silesian Voivodeship heard the accusation of bringing about a disaster in land traffic. At the request of the investigators and the prosecutor, the court arrested him for three months. For the committed crime, he may face up to 10 years in prison.
The driver had over two parts per mil
The collision occurred on Tuesday half an hour before midnight in the area of the railway control station in Dąbrowa Górnicza at Towarowa Street.
According to the police, one of the drivers ignored the red light, which forbade him to continue driving on the track on which he was moving, resulting in a collision with another train composition. As a result, four carriages derailed, two of which were overturned. One of the locomotives was also damaged.
As it turned out, the 48-year-old train driver had over two per mille of alcohol in his body. Nothing happened to anyone.
