Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – icing
Yellow warnings against icing apply in the following voivodeships:
- Opole provincein the following counties: Strzelce, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Opole, OpoleKrapkowice, Prudnik, Nysa, Brzeski;
- Lower Silesiain the following counties: Oława, Strzelin, Ząbkowice, Dzierżoniów, Wrocław, WrocławŚrodazki, Świdnica, WałbrzychJawor, Legnica, LegnicaZłotoryja, Bolesławiec, Zgorzelec.
It is forecast that the wet surface of roads and sidewalks will freeze after rain, sleet or wet snow, causing them to become icy. The minimum temperature will be around -1 degrees C, and the minimum temperature at the ground will be from -2 degrees C to 0 degrees C.
The warnings will be valid until 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation
First degree warnings due to freezing precipitation apply to the following voivodeships:
- Podlasie;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipeastern counties;
- Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship;
- Masovian Voivodeship;
- Lublin Province;
- Łódźcounties: Radomsko, Piotrkowski, Tomaszów, Brzeziński, ŁódźŁódź East, Pabianice, Łask, Bełchatów, Piotrków TrybunalskiPajęczański, Wieluń, Wieruszów;
- Silesian;
- Podkarpackie;
- Opole provincesouthern counties;
- Lower Silesiasouthern counties;
- Lesser Poland.
Light freezing drizzle is forecast, causing black ice. The warnings will expire at 12 on Wednesday.
