Warnings from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management against strong winds apply to a large area of ​​Poland. Over the sea, gusts of up to almost 100 kilometers per hour may occur. It will be dangerous until Tuesday morning.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued second- and first-degree meteorological warnings on a three-degree, increasing scale.

Second degree IMWM warnings – strong wind

Orange alerts apply in the following voivodeships:

  • West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin counties: ŚwinoujścieKamieński, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin, KoszalinSławno;
  • Pomeranianin the following counties: Słupsk, SłupskLębork, Wejherowo, Puck, Gdynia, Sopot, GdańskGdańsk, Nowy Dwór, Malbork.

Strong winds with an average speed of up to 65 kilometers per hour, with gusts of up to 95 km/h, from the north-west are forecast.

The warnings will be valid until 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

IMWM first degree warnings – strong wind

Lower level warnings are in force over a much larger area. Applies to voivodeships:

  • West Pomeranian Voivodeshipcounties: Białogard, Świdnica, Szczecinek, Drawsko, Wałecki;
  • Pomeranianoutside counties covered by orange alerts;
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipoutside eastern counties;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship;
  • Greater Polandcounties: Złotów, Piła, Chodzież, Wągrowiec, Gniezno, Słupca, Konin, KoninKolo, Turkish;
  • Łódźpoviats: Poddębice, Łęczyca, Kutno, Zgierz, Łowicz, Brzeziny, Skierniewice, Skierniewice, Rawa;
  • Masovian Voivodeship;
  • Lublin Province.

In these places, the wind is expected to blow at an average speed of up to 50 km/h, with gusts of up to 80 km/h, from the west and north-west.

The warnings will expire at 9 on Tuesday.

First degree IMWM warnings – snowmelt

IMWM it also warns against thaws. Yellow alerts have been issued for the following voivodeships:

  • Lower Silesiacounties: Karkonosze, Jelenia GóraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, WałbrzychKłodzko;
  • Silesiancounties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Żywiec;
  • Lesser Polandcounties: Nowy Targ, Tatra, Nowy Sącz, Gorlice.

Minimum temperature from 0 to 3 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature from 3 to 5 degrees C. Total rainfall from 10-20 l/sq m. Wind with average speed from 40 km/h to 55 km/h, with gusts up to 90 km/h, from the west.

The warnings will be in force until 18 on Tuesday.
