Daniel Obajtek's resistance to submitting to verification by the services was systemic. He simply did not submit to this control. He had such a strong position in the PiS country that he assumed that the services were against it – said Minister Tomasz Siemoniak, coordinator of the secret services, in “Kropka nad i”. He assessed that “the prosecutor's office has its hands full” regarding Orlen.

Minister coordinator of special services Tomasz Siemoniak was asked in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 about the latest reports regarding the former president of Orlen, Daniel Obajtek. Onet reported that Obajtek participated in a meeting at which state secrets classified as “top secret” were discussed. The portal pointed out that the then president of Orlen “did not have a certificate of access to classified information issued by the Internal Security Agency”, and the order to allow Obajtek to access the greatest state secrets “Jarosław Kaczyński was supposed to publish it”.

As Siemoniak emphasized, “such action should be absolutely unique.” – For example, in a situation where someone has not yet managed to submit the survey and needs to be familiar with a document – he explained. – However, Obajtek's resistance to submitting to this verification by the services was of a systemic nature. He simply did not submit to this control. He had such a strong position in the country PiSthat he was foolish about the fact that the services were against it – commented the minister.

“I don't understand the phenomenon of Obajtek in the PiS state”

The TVN24 guest admitted that “the president of Orlen, like other presidents of the most important strategic companies of the State Treasury, should be allowed” to access classified information.

He also assessed that the PiS president “had some amazing weakness for President Obajtek.” – I don't understand the phenomenon of Obajtek in the PiS state, that he could simply do anything, take over other companies, newspapers, kiosks, do whatever he wanted and there was no control over it – said Siemoniak. According to him, “we are just witnessing the tip of the iceberg, and there will still be a lot of things happening around what was actually happening in Orlen.” – I think the prosecutor's office has its hands full here – he added.

Pegasus List. “There are many such cases”

Siemoniak was also asked when we could learn the full list of people surveilled by the previous government using the Pegasus spy system. – We are working with the minister (of justice). Adam) Bodnar, the Prosecutor General, to identify those cases that were absolutely unjustified, that did not end with charges or indictments, or were simply a political action – he replied. – We have no doubt (…) that there are many such cases – he added.

He also emphasized that “it is important, and this is a good proposal from Minister Bodnar, how to inform about it.” – We are working on such a solution, Minister Bodnar talked about it a few days ago, to inform you individually. Not everyone can wish for everyone to know that they were under surveillance with Pegasus, he noted.

He said it was a “good proposal”, but it should be “legally enshrined”.

He added that Bodnar “as prosecutor general intends to present full information on the numbers and rules to the Sejm.” – This is his commitment, which he also expressed publicly – he emphasized.

“It's high time for changes at diplomatic missions”

Siemoniak also commented on the decision of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski about “the completion of the mission by over 50 ambassadors and about the withdrawal of several candidates submitted for approval by the previous management of the ministry.

As he said, “it's high time for changes at diplomatic missions.” – Today exactly three months have passed since the Prime Minister's government has been in operation Donald Tusk. From what I know, Minister Sikorski talked to the president very quickly Andrzej Duda about changes – he said.

According to him, “nothing has happened during these three months and that's why Minister Sikorski simply decides to act.” – It cannot be that there are ambassadors who do not have the trust of the government, who do not have the trust of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. It is clear that the president has his place in this procedure, but apparently there is no such agreement, even though it seemed that a consensus was reached between the minister and the president very quickly – he added.
