Danielle Moore, lead singer of British band Crazy P, has died at the age of 52. The artist is being bid farewell on social media by her band, who are writing about the “unbelievable and shocking news.”

The singer's death was announced on Monday by the band Crazy P. In a statement posted on Instagram, they wrote that Moore died on August 30. “We are devastated to announce the unbelievable and shocking news that our beautiful Danielle Moore passed away suddenly and tragically on Friday afternoon, August 30th. We can't believe this news ourselves and we know that the same will happen to all of you. She gave us so much and we love her so much. Our hearts are broken,” the statement reads.

The group did not disclose the cause of the singer's death.

Moore joined bassist Tim Davies and drummer Mav Kendricks in 2002 to form the electronic music group Crazy P. Since then, the British band have released seven studio albums and toured the world. The BBC recalls an article in The Times, which described Crazy P's sound as “a heady blend of funk, house and disco”. The band recently performed with Róisín Murphy. The singer has now shared a photo of herself with Moore, along with a few words of farewell. “One of the most beautiful souls has left us. The wonderful Danielle Moore of Crazy P has suddenly passed away and taken so much light with her. She was a wonderful musician, an amazing person, singer, performer and songwriter,” she wrote.

Crazy P was on tour. The band was supposed to play a concert in Ibiza on September 7. Danielle Moore was 52.
