Dave Grohl confirmed in a recent interview that he is a huge fan of the ABBA band. In an interview with BBC News, the leader of Foo Fighters said he would like to play with the Swedish group at the London concerts next May. “Don’t worry,” the team replied.

Dave Grohl, former Nirvana drummer and leader Foo Fighters, in an extensive interview with Mark Savag for BBC News, he commented on the new ABBA songs. On September 2, the legendary Swedish group released two new songs – for the first time in 39 years – announcing the album “Voyage” and an unusual performance with digital reproductions of the famous quartet.

– Oh my god, I’m a huge fan of Abby. When I saw them coming back and having new tapes, I sent a link to 100 people I know. Later I listened to a new song and I sobbed like a baby. I was crying like a baby, said Grohl.

When asked what moved him, the Foo Fighters frontman said, “It sounds like time has stood still.” Plus, it was such a beautiful, romantic, melancholic, bittersweet retrospective. This is amazing. Abba can’t do things wrong.

Grohl would love to play the drums at Abby’s London concerts in May. “Show me the drum kit and I’ll sit down and play,” he replied.

ABBA – return after nearly four decades

In 1974, ABBA won the 19th Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, UK. They played one of their greatest hits – “Waterloo”. They quickly conquered Europe, then other corners of the world.

They have released eight studio albums and sold a total of nearly 400 million albums, placing them in the ranks of the best-selling artists of all time.

In 1982, they suddenly announced the end of their cooperation. The last time they appeared together was in 1986, on a television program. They didn’t show together until 2005, when the Swedish musical “Mamma Mia!”, Based on the band’s songs, was premiered. In 2008, they took part in the premiere of the film of the same name. In 2016, they sang together for the first time since breaking up – it happened during a closed event in Stockholm.

On September 2, a special event was held in Stockholm, during which two new songs “I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down” were premiered. Bjoern Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson announced that their new studio album “Voyage” will be released on November 5, which will contain a total of 10 new songs by the band.
