Director David Lynch is dead. He was 78 years old. He created such films as “Mulholland Drive” and “Wild at Heart”, as well as the cult series “Twin Peaks”.

Lynch revealed in 2024 that after a lifetime of smoking cigarettes, he was diagnosed with emphysema and will probably no longer be able to leave home to work.
Award-winning
Lynch has been recognized with many awards over the course of his 58-year career. Although he was nominated for an Academy Award for films four times, he never ultimately received one. In 2020, he won an honorary Oscar.
For “Wild at Heart” he won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1990. In 2001, he won an award for directing “Mulholland Drive” at the same festival.
He was the creator of the cult series “Twin Peaks”.
