DC cops say they had been instructed to have abortions to maintain job

A Metropolitan Police Department officer claimed she was given an ultimatum to both have an abortion or lose her job throughout her coaching. 

Karen Arikpo, a D.C. officer of 24 years, lately sat down with Fox 5 DC to debate this life-changing expertise.

Arikpo says she hadn’t spoken to anybody in regards to the incident because it occurred in 1997, when she was a police recruit within the police academy.

The feminine sergeant even referred Arikpo to a D.C. physician to have the process. The veteran officer says she has saved the key because it occurred. 

“I simply thought this was one thing I’d take to my grave,” she instructed FOX 5. 

Arikpo says her vote of confidence got here when D.C. Assistant Police Chief Chanel Dickerson was vocal in regards to the an identical expertise throughout her time as an 18-year-old cadet. Fox 5 DC studies that Dickerson made her declare public throughout a group assembly.
