DDoS attack on ePUAP. The Minister of Digitization informs that there may be difficulties

DDoS attack on the Electronic Platform of Public Administration Services – ePUAP. There may be difficulties, said the Minister of Digitization Janusz Cieszyński in a Tuesday post on social media.

“Another DDoS attack on EPUAP is underway. Services are available, but there may be difficulties,” Cieszyński wrote on Twitter.

The Electronic Platform of Public Administration Services (ePUAP) was established by the Act of 2005 on computerization of the activities of entities performing public tasks. It was launched in 2008.

It is used to communicate citizens with public administration units in a unified, standard way.

Through the platform, you can set up a company, pay contributions, add oneself to the electoral roll, submit a complaint or request, a garbage declaration, an application for registration of a vehicle imported from abroad, ask for a copy of civil status records, change the address for correspondence or residence, etc.

What is a DDoS attack?

“DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) is a distributed attack on computer systems or a network service that prevents its proper operation. As experts note, uncomplicated, brute force DDoS attacks on the websites of institutions and other national entities are observed by the relevant services from the very beginning of the activities of war on Ukraine” – explained on the government website.
