Candidates for the President of the Republic of Poland during the Friday debate in Końskie were asked, among others, whether they would agree to a increase in taxes in a situation of growing security threat and whether they would sign the Act on the reduction of the health premium.
Magdalena Biejat, the left -wing candidate for president, said that the state spends enough money to defense, but what they need is smarter expenses. She added that it is necessary to transfer more money for research and development. At the same time, she pointed out that you should end the privileges for the richest and introduce a fair tax system.

Third way candidate, Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia He explained that a large part of the funds from the national reconstruction plan will be allocated to research and development. He pointed out that where to look for money, in banks that “earn 40 billion year -on -year and sleep on money, instead of letting this blood from the Blood Bank to the Polish economy.”
Marek Jakubiak (Free Republicans) said that as a president he would not sign any law that would raise taxes. In his opinion, less should be spent on officials. He also stated that in Poland “Western corporations do not pay taxes at all.”
Maciej Maciak (leader of the Welfare and Peace Movement) said that war equipment “these are ordinary creases” and their prices are disproportionate to production costs. He emphasized that it would be enough to introduce a recipe that no equipment could be overpayed.
Supported by PIS Karol Nawrocki When asked about the increase in defense taxes, he stated that there are other ways to get money for this purpose. Joanna Senyszyn, in response to this question, said that “if we actually spend 5 percent of GDP on defense, not 3.5 percent, we will gain PLN 90 billion a year, from which it is worth allocating 20 billion on construction, 20-30 billion on health protection, and there would be a few billion for defense.”
Civic Coalition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski He emphasized that it is now very important that defense expenditure has been taken out of debt limits. He also emphasized the importance of EU money flowing in to Poland to strengthen the defense industry, including the construction of the East shield,
Changes in the health premium?
Trzaskowski, asked if he would sign the Act on the reduction of the health premium for entrepreneurs (the Sejm recently accepted it) stated that yes, because according to the declarations of the Minister of Finance it will not become a cost NFZ. – It is necessary to relieve entrepreneurs and on the other hand to reform health care – he noted.
In turn, Krzysztof Stanowski estimated that after reducing taxes, patients will wait several years for visits or examinations.
Joanna Senyszyn said that one cannot agree to injustice, consisting in the fact that the entrepreneur will pay less than PLN 300 health contributions and the employee several thousand. “We also need to be farmers,” she said.
Karol Nawrocki said that no government managed to reform health care so that everyone would be happy with it. In his opinion, however, it has not been so bad so far, which can be seen, among others, from the extending queues to doctors. He emphasized that he would not sign a law reducing the health premium.
Maciak is a supporter of lowering the health premium. – The same premium as in Great Britain is maximum. And we start to leave the hole somehow – he said. Earlier he explained that on the islands of health contributions it was from 60 to 300 PLN.
Jakubiak would also sign the premium reduction act. “This is a light in the tunnel,” he noted. He added that this is not his full fulfillment of liabilities to entrepreneurs. He explained that money for health care must be sought primarily in the budget.
Hołownia is also a supporter of changes in the health premium. “Of course I would sign (such a law – ed.),” He said.
Magdalena Biejat was opposed. – Poland spends 5 percent GDP for health protection, and the European average is 10 percent. – she pointed out.
A ban on selling alcohol at gas stations
Candidates and candidates for the President of the Republic of Poland were also asked if they would sign the act on the ban on the sale of alcohol at gas stations. Magdalena Biejat and Szymon Hołownia faced such regulations.
According to Marek Jakubiak, it is not about the availability of alcohol, but its price. As he said, you need to introduce a minimum alcohol price in stores.
Maciej Maciak said that “if he had such powers, he would ban the sale of alcohol at stations.”
The presidential election will take place on May 18 this year. If the so -called The second round will be necessary, it will take place on June 1.
