The guests of “Kropki nad i” commented on the Tuesday debate in the European Parliament with the participation of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Deputy Speaker of the Senate Michał Kamiński (PSL-Koalicja Polska) assessed that “the course for Poland’s exit from the European Union is being continued”. According to the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Piotr Wawrzyk, “for MEPs it was irrelevant what the Polish prime minister said” because “they had speeches prepared in advance”.
The European Parliament held a debate on “the crisis of the rule of law in Poland and the primacy of EU law” in connection with the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal on EU and national law. Among others, the head of the European Commission took the floor Ursula von der Leyen and prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki. They were followed by representatives of various political groups in the EP.
The course of the debate was commented on in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 by Deputy Foreign Minister Piotr Wawrzyk (Law and Justice) and Deputy Speaker of the Senate Michał Kamiński (PSL-Koalicja Polska).
Kamiński: the course for Poland’s exit from the European Union is continued
– Let’s hope that this row, completely unnecessary for Poland, will end in the same way as the brawls in the regional councils – ed., Which concerned the anti-LGBT resolutions – said Kamiński. – It does not change the fact that even if the prime minister says in some matter that they are retreating, the most important lesson from Prime Minister Morawiecki’s speech in the European Parliament is that the course for confrontation and the course for Poland’s exit from the European Union is continued – he added.
– If today Mateusz Morawiecki is speaking to MEPs and they know perfectly well that the same Prime Minister Morawiecki is talking to Ms (Marine – ed.) Le Pen and Mr (Matteo – ed.) Salvin about creating a program for Europe, which is a program to destroy the Union European Union, it is not completely credible if it says that it does not want Poland to leave the EU, he said.
Kamiński stressed that “Prime Minister Morawiecki does not want the Union as it is today”.
Wawrzyk: It was irrelevant to the MEPs what the Polish prime minister said
According to Piotr Wawrzyk, “the most important for the external audience was the reaction” to the speech of Prime Minister Morawiecki. – The speeches of the MEPs showed that the deputies had their speeches prepared in advance, it was irrelevant to them what the Polish prime minister said – he assessed.
“They knew what to say, and they couldn’t relate to the speech, some of its new passages,” he continued. The deputy head of the ministry of foreign affairs mentioned here that the prime minister cited several “decisions of the constitutional courts, not to mention where they come from”.
– The context of the Prime Minister’s statements indicated that this was a ruling of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal. When there was a murmur, the prime minister said that these were decisions of the French Council of State or the German Constitutional Court – he said.
