Rosa: it was a debate about women's history

Monika Rosa was asked what today's debate in the Sejm was about. – A little bit of everything. It was a bit about the history of women, about who will ultimately have the right to decide what happens to our health, our lives and who will decide what we women should decide about – she began.

– Will our will be heard or will it be decided by chance, doctors with a conscience clause, or politicians from the Law and Justice party? So this debate was actually about freedom, about what our history is, about whether we will be afraid of getting pregnant in Poland, about whether we will go abroad – she continued.

As she added, “even now, when we are talking, some abortions are happening in Poland, because there are about 100 of these abortions a day, and they are happening with the use of pharmacological abortion pills, and they are happening because there are organizations that help women, but these abortions should be happening in the system. – They should be safe, they should be legal, they should be available, regardless of your budget. First of all, women in Poland should not die, she said.

Leo: about the unity and agency of the coalition on October 15

Aleksandra Leo answered the same question. – This debate was about the fact that women should finally be heard in Poland, that women should be safe, that women should not only be decided by men – she replied. As she added, “she means in particular those right-wing men who spoke today, who are mentally in the 19th century, i.e. in 1864.”

She referred to the US state of Arizona, whose Supreme Court decided Tuesday that a law adopted in 1864 still applies and reinstated the ban on abortion in all cases except to save the mother's life. – For me, there are politicians from Confederation and PiS. They should stay there. We should move forward, said the Poland 2050 MP.

– This debate was about what tomorrow's vote will be about. Not only about abortion, but for me it will also be a vote about the unity and agency of the coalition on October 15, she added.
