A 33-year-old from Dęblin (Lubelskie Voivodeship) was charged with bodily harm to his friend. According to the police, the suspect attacked one of the guests with a knife while drinking alcohol. At the time of his arrest, he had nearly four times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

On Tuesday (July 4) in the evening in a gazebo near Tysiąclecia Street in Dęblin, several friends were drinking alcohol. According to the initial findings of the police, at some point there was a misunderstanding.

“One of the companions – a 33-year-old resident of Dęblin – became aggressive and, for an unknown reason, stabbed his fellow guest twice in the neck with a knife” – writes in the message a staff assistant Agnieszka Marchlak from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Ryki.

The 69-year-old was hospitalized

The injured 69-year-old man was transported to the hospital. His life is not in danger. The 33-year-old and other guests were detained for clarification.

“They were all under the influence of alcohol,” the police officer points out.

He faces up to five years in prison

The collected evidence allowed the 33-year-old to be charged with bodily harm.

“As it turned out, at the time of arrest, he had nearly four per mille of alcohol in his body. The Penal Code for bodily harm provides for a prison sentence of up to five years,” the release reads.
