Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, admitted this in an interview with “Mundo Deportivo”.
– I hope that Lewandowski will continue to play at the current level. He is one of the greatest professionals I have ever seen in my life. It's no coincidence that he is where he is and shoots as much as he did at the age of 36 (…). I think it's hard to find a striker like Robert today. There's one, maybe two at his level. Maybe Haaland and someone else, said Deco.
He added that currently the transfer of the striker is not a priority for Barcelona. – We will not focus on the search for the attacker now, because we prefer to focus on what Robert can do. I think he's happy here. He is a winner and if we play a good season, I think he will want to stay,” he admitted. – I hope he stays for another season – he added later in the conversation.
