A 44-year-old Lithuanian citizen faces up to eight years in prison. He is suspected of causing an accident near Deniski (Podlaskie Voivodeship), in which a 67-year-old bus driver died.
The accident happened on Thursday (December 1) around 6 pm near Deniski on the national road No. 19 on the Białystok-Lublin route.
According to preliminary information from the police, the Audi driver collided while overtaking with a bus coming from the opposite direction. The bus was hit by the Ford behind it.
The bus driver died
Eight people were traveling in three vehicles. Despite resuscitation, a 67-year-old resident of Bielsk Podlaski – a bus driver – died on the spot.
Four people were hospitalized with various injuries. These are three bus passengers and a passenger in an Audi.
The 44-year-old was charged with causing the accident
The police detained a 44-year-old Lithuanian citizen who was sitting behind the wheel of an Audi. The prosecutor’s office accuses him of causing the accident.
The man was arrested by the decision of the District Court in Bielsk Podlaski for three months. He faces up to eight years in prison.
