Denmark has withdrawn from sale spicy noodle dishes imported from South Korea. The decision covered three specific types of instant noodles firmy Samyang Foods – Buldak 3x Spicy & Hot Chicken, 2x Spicy & Hot Chicken oraz Hot Chicken Stew.

The decision was made after it was found that dishes can lead to “acute poisoning”.

Denmark has withdrawn the famous pasta. The reason is health hazard

The Danish Veterinary and Food Authority found that these products contain too much capsaicin – the chemical responsible for the spicy taste of chili peppers. “Pasta dishes advertised as extremely spicy can no longer be soldbecause consumers, especially children, risk acute poisoning,” the statement said.

“The capsaicin content is so high that may pose a health risk” – emphasized.

As reported by the AP agency, in Denmark, many children are encouraged via social media to eat the spiciest pasta possible. According to experts, such spicy dishes can lead to nausea, vomiting, and also can significantly increase blood pressure.

Therefore, the Danish office requested withdrawing products from store shelves. Consumers were asked to throw away the purchased pasta or return it to the seller.

In a statement to journalists, Samyang said it understood the steps taken in Denmark. She said these were not due to product quality issuesbut simply because the local authorities considered them “too harsh and potentially problematic”.

The brand added that exports products all over the world and this is the first time it has encountered such a situation.
