Denmark’s King Frederik X has been proclaimed as the brand new head of Europe’s oldest monarchy throughout a day of pomp in Copenhagen.

The previous crown prince, 55, has formally taken over from his mom Queen Margrethe II, after she stunned the nation on New Yr’s Eve when she introduced her determination to abdicate after 52 years on the throne.
