In the afternoon, MPs will elect four members of the National Council of the Judiciary on behalf of the Sejm. How will the current parliamentary majority behave towards PiS candidates? – We will make a decision. Let me just remind you that Law and Justice did not elect a single candidate from the opposition to the National Council of the Judiciary four years ago, said Krzysztof Åšmiszek, an MP from the New Left. – Usually we support those who are worth supporting – added MichaÅ‚ Gramatyka from Poland 2050.

On Tuesday at 4 p.m., the Sejm is to resume the session that started on Monday. As reported by the marshal Szymon Hołowniaa vote was planned then, among other things choice four new members of the National Council of the Judiciary from the Sejm. In the previous term, the seats in the National Council of the Judiciary for representatives of the Sejm were occupied only by PiS MPs.

According to PiS MP Arkadiusz Mularczyk, the PiS club will nominate its candidate to the National Council of the Judiciary. As the reporter recalled, the opposition’s candidacies were rejected in the previous term. How will the current parliamentary majority behave today? – We will make a decision. I’ll just remind you that Law and Justice did not elect a single candidate from the opposition to the National Council of the Judiciary four years ago. The custom used to be different. Law and Justice has started a kind of different strategy – said Krzysztof Åšmiszek, MP of the New Left, in a conversation with Wasilewska.

When asked whether the current majority wants to continue what it has been criticizing for four years and not allow a PiS representative to the National Council of the Judiciary, he replied: – We will discuss it.

– Today we still have a few hours to see what candidates will be submitted and who will want to be on the National Council of the Judiciary on behalf of Law and Justice. Everything is still in play, he said.

He added that he would not like “Law and Justice to invoke any discrimination or exclusion” because, as he said, “they themselves used a discriminatory practice against the opposition four years ago.”

Grammar: We tend to support those who are worthy of support

MichaÅ‚ Gramatyka from Poland 2050, when asked whether his party would support the PiS candidate, said that he “would have to see who it would be.”

– Usually we support those who are worth supporting. For example, yesterday we would probably support everyone except the Speaker (Elizabeth) Witek – added.

– It’s hard to decide blindly. If, for example, Law and Justice appoints a minister to the National Council of the Judiciary (Zbigniew) Ziobro or Minister (PrzemysÅ‚aw) Czarnek or one of the others who are famous for dismantling the Polish legal system, it will be difficult to support such a person – he said.

In his opinion, “there are some good lawyers in Law and Justice.” – I respect and appreciate, for example, Mr. Marek Asta – he said.

According to a TVN24 reporter, the candidates for the National Council of the Judiciary from the Civic Coalition are Robert Kropiwnicki and Kamila Gasiuk-Pichowicz. The Left and Poland 2050 are to field one candidate each.
