During these years, i.e. between 2018 and 2023, the cost in terms of protection, in terms of the functioning of this protection, is one million zlotys – said Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk (KO) in the “#BezKitu Campaign” on the costs of protection , which was covered by Antoni Macierewicz after he ceased to be the head of the Ministry of Defense.

We need to evaluate almost eight years of operation of the subcommittee headed by Antoni Macierewicz. We must explain the justification, purposefulness and credibility of these actions, said Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He noted that for this purpose he had established a team that would evaluate the activities of the subcommittee. It consists of experts. There is no politician in it.

The head of MOM said that his ministry wanted to show how much Polish taxpayers paid for the operation of the Smolensk subcommittee for almost eight years. – According to preliminary estimates, we first talked about PLN 33 million, but subsequent stages and audit analyzes show that it is already PLN 36 million, of which PLN 13 million was spent on expert opinions – he said.

Tomczyk: the subcommittee, even when it theoretically completed its work, generated costs

The guest of the “#BezKitu Campaign” was the Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk. – This paracommittee, let’s not be afraid to use this phrase, even when it theoretically completed its work, generated costs for the State Treasury. This is truly amazing, he said.

As he added, “if the commission finishes its work and submits a report, it should be dissolved. This did not happen here and hence another three million zlotys (of costs – editor).” – Anyway, I think that these calculations are only partial, still partial. (…) We reveal the cards one by one, also because new documents are constantly coming to us – he continued. – When we look inside, when we look at these details, it is terrifying – he said.

As the deputy minister said, the subcommittee’s operating costs “include expert opinions that Mr. Macierewicz and this subcommittee ordered everywhere in the world.” – Anyway, to this day some of the costs have not been settled, and some of the reports have not arrived in Poland, because when Mr. Antoni did not necessarily like what was coming from abroad in terms of applications, he stopped working in this direction – he said.

Tomczyk: the record holder earned PLN 900,000 in the subcommittee

Referring to the earnings of the subcommittee members, he said that “the record holder in this subcommittee earned PLN 900,000 during these years of operation,” i.e. since 2016. – During the year, the record holder was PLN 230,000 (PLN – ed.) – he added. In turn, the cost of fuel consumed by the car Macierewicz was entitled to was PLN 230,000.

On December 19 last year, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz decided to withdraw from protection Antoni Macierewicz by the Military Police. As Cezary Tomczyk said in the “#BezKitu Campaign”, “during these years, i.e. between 2018 and 2023, the cost in terms of protection, in terms of the functioning of this protection, is one million zlotys.”

Tomczyk also revealed that when Antoni Macierewicz was the Minister of National Defense and due to his office he was entitled to protection, “during the defense fair in Kielce, Antoni Macierewicz, as the Minister of Defense, was protected by 100 soldiers at the same time.” – 100 soldiers secured the area, but only in connection with the visit of Antoni Macierewicz and they were delegated to take care of its specific security – he said.

Referring to the issue of providing protection to Antoni Macierewicz after he left the position of head of the Ministry of National Defense, Tomczyk said that Macierewicz’s successor, Mariusz Błaszczak “he granted such consent indefinitely and had to know what costs were associated with it.”

In the second part of the program, Paulina Matysiak (Together, New Left) and Agnieszka Kłopotek (PSLThird Way) commented on the MP’s scandalous words PIS Agnieszka Wojciechowska van Heukelom, who assessed Magdalena Filiks’ behavior in the Sejm as “indicating habituation to various stimulants.”

– Such words should not be said – said Kłopotek. – There are some things that shouldn’t be said – Matysiak agreed. According to her, it is no excuse that a PiS MP is holding this position for the first time. Radomir Wit’s guests also talked about the mental health of children and adolescents in Poland.

Questions from young people

Youth representatives also asked the guests questions. Gabriela Gładyszewska (GrowSpace Foundation) raised the issue of the ideas of both politicians to support the mental health of young people. Hubert Maciejewski (Campus Polska Foundation) raised the issue of transport exclusion, which he asked PSL MP Agnieszka Kłopotek about.
