Deputy Minister of Interior and Administration Czesław Mroczek: the regulation on the zone near the border with Belarus will enter into force on Thursday

The regulation on the buffer zone will be signed on Wednesday and will enter into force on Thursday – said Czesław Mroczek, deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, in the “Tak jest” program on TVN24. He said that the zone would cover a distance of over 60 kilometers. At a length of approximately 45 kilometers, it will be approximately 200 meters wide, and in reserves and primeval forests it will be a maximum of two kilometers wide.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Monday that the government adopted a resolution, the consequence of which is the regulation of the Ministry of Interior and Administration on the creation of a buffer zone at the border with Belarus.

The Deputy Minister of Interior and Administration, Czesław Mroczek from the Civic Coalition, spoke more about the creation of this zone in the “Tak jest” program on TVN24. He said that the regulation on this matter would be signed on Wednesday. – We will manage to complete the entire government circulation and it will come into force on Thursday – he added.

– The zone will be 200 meters deep. In general, the zone will be sixty-odd kilometers long – in terms of the border in the two sections where most crossings occur. At approximately 45 kilometers it will be a 200-meter-deep zone. As it passes through reserves and primeval forests, it will go a little deeper into the country's territory, but within two kilometers, Mroczek pointed out.
