On Sunday, a tram derailed on Chorzowska Street in Katowice. The provincial ambulance announced that 17 people were injured, of which five went to the hospital.
The accident of the tram line 11 took place in the area of the “Park Śląski – Zoological Garden” stop. The fire brigade received a notification in this matter after 4pm.
17 people injured
According to the provincial ambulance, a total of 17 people were injured. Eight of them required medical assistance, and five were transported to the hospital.

As Łukasz Pach, director of the Silesian CAP, said, the injured persons were taken to hospitals in good general condition, the injuries they suffered are slight head injuries, associated with hitting during the derailment of the tram. Each of the injured people was conscious and in good contact.
Emergency services appeared at the scene of the accident. Five emergency medical teams of the Provincial Ambulance Service in Katowice, hosts of the State Fire Service from Katowice and Chorzów and officers of the Silesian police were involved in the action. One of the lanes was blocked towards Chorzów.
In connection with the return from the long May weekend and increased road traffic, the Provincial Ambulance Service in Katowice appealed for caution and prudence on the roads.
