Difficulties on the streets of Warsaw on the weekend

The Public Transport Authority warns against obstruction due to numerous events. This weekend, on June 4 and 5 – mainly in the city center – streets for drivers will be blocked. The buses will take detours.

On Saturday at 10 a.m. in Park Świętokrzyski, a gathering will begin, the participants of which will march along Świętokrzyska and Marszałkowska Streets, through Bankowy Square, along Senatorska Street in front of the building at 15 Miodowa Street and further on Miodowa, Bonifraterska Street to the viaduct at Słomińskiego Street.

The next assembly was planned at Krasiński Square. People taking part in it from 1.30 pm – 3 pm they will go along the following streets: Miodowa, Senatorska, Zamkow Square, Krakowskie Przedmieście, Nowy Świat, Świętokrzyska, ONZ roundabout, Aleja Jana Pawła II, Aleja “Solidarności”, Kapucyńska, Miodowa to Plac Krasińskich.

As reported by the ZTM, during these marches, buses of the following lines can change their routes: 106, 116, 160, 171, 174, 178, 180, 190, 222, 503, 517, 518 and 520.

The skaters will go through eight districts

Also on Saturday, inline skaters from Nightskating Warszawa will appear on the streets, who will ride through eight districts in the evening. There will be two runs that day – both will start in front of the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument. There will be difficulties for drivers and public transport in Śródmieście, Wola, Bemowo, Włochy, Mokotów, Ursynów, Wilanów and Praga-Południe.

For the less experienced, the organizers have prepared the “Kids” tour. Inline skaters will set off for it at 7 p.m. from the monument to Copernicus. The ride was carried out along the following streets: Krakowskie Przedmieście, Tokarzewskiego-Karaszewicza, pl. Piłsudskiego, Królewska, Marszałkowska, Al. Jerozolimskie, al. Jana Pawła II, ONZ roundabout, Prosta, Towarowa, Okopowa, “Solidarności” Avenue, Jana Pawła II Avenue, ONZ roundabout, Świętokrzyska, Marszałkowska, Królewska, pl. Piłsudski, Tokarzewski-Karaszewicz, Krakowskie Przedmieście.

More experienced skaters and skaters will gather at the Copernicus Monument at 9 p.m. to set off for a 52-kilometer ride around 10 p.m. The “Extreme” route was marked out along the following streets: Krakowskie Przedmieście, Tokarzewskiego-Karaszewicza, Piłsudskiego Square, Królewska, Marszałkowska, Bank Square, Aleja “Solidarności”, Okopowa, Leszno, Górczewska, Lazurowa, Aleja 4 Czerwca 1989, Aleje Jerozolimskie, Łopuszańska, Aleja Krakowska, Workers’ Defense Committee, Żwirki i Wigury, Bennett, Narkiewicza, Wirażów (stop), Poleczki, Pileckiego, Cieszewski, Aleja KEN, Płkowicka, Branicki, Przyczółkowa, Wiertnicza, Powsińska, Czerniakowska, Aleja Becka, Siekierkowski Bridge, Miedzeszyński, Poniatowski Bridge, Aleje Jerozolimskie, Marszałkowska, Królewska, Piłsudskiego Square, Tokarzewski-Karaszewicza Square, Krakowskie Przedmieście.

“The routes of both journeys will be subject to temporary changes in the traffic and functioning of public transport” – informed the ZTM.

Pilgrimage on Sunday

On Sunday, from the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist to Wilanów will go on a pilgrimage on the occasion of the Thanksgiving Day. The procession will start at 7.40 am and will walk along Świętojańska Street, Zamkowy Square, Krakowskie Przedmieście, de Gaulle’a roundabout, Nowy Świat, Plac Trzech Krzyży, Aleje Ujazdowskie, Belwederska, Jana III Sobieskiego, Aleja Rzeczypospolitej, Hlonda. The march will end around 11.30 am. To the intersection of Sobieskiego and Nałęczowska Streets, the procession will follow the road towards Wilanów (traffic in the opposite direction will be maintained). In the next section, both roadways will be excluded from traffic. During the procession, buses will change their routes: 107, 116, 118, 119, 148, 159, 164, 166, 172, 178, 180, 195, 217, 222, 503, 519, 522.

In connection with the organization of the ceremony in front of the Temple of Divine Providence, from 9 am on Saturday to Sunday until the end of the day, the western road of Rzeczpospolita Avenue (towards the temple) between Hlonda Street and Sejmu Czteroletnego Street will be closed to the end of the day. The road towards the city center will be disabled on Sunday, from 6-22.

However, on Sunday from Hlonda Street on the section from Rzeczpospolitej Avenue to Ledóchowska Street will be completely disabled for traffic. On this day, additional parking spaces will also be designated on the outer lanes of Rzeczpospolita Avenue. Those on the eastern road will be available from 6 am, while those on the west side, after the pilgrimage, from around 11.45. Parking lots for pilgrims (from 6-22) will also operate at Branickiego Street on the two extreme lanes between Ledóchowska Street and Rzeczpospolitej Avenue (for passenger cars) and on Przyczółkowa Street from Klimczaka Street to Branicki Street (one lane for coaches). The exclusions and closures of these lanes to traffic will last until 10 p.m.

On Saturday, from 9.00 am, bus routes 217, 522 and N81 will be shortened to the intersection of Rzeczpospolita Avenue with Hlonda and Klimczaka Streets. On Sunday, however, buses 217 and 522 will run only to the intersection of Aleja Rzeczypospolitej and Oś Królewska Street. On that day, only articulated buses will be directed to operate both lines, which will run more frequently, according to a special timetable.
