Prosecutor Krzysztof Parchimowicz, former president of the Lex Super Omnia association, appeared on Tuesday at the Disciplinary Court at the Prosecutor General to provide explanations in one of the disciplinary cases. It concerns, among others, criticism of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro. The trial was adjourned to February next year.

As TVN24 reporter Karolina Wasilewska reported, the explanations provided by prosecutor Parchimowicz concerned one of the disciplinary cases brought against the prosecutor, among others, for criticizing the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro.

She added that only a small part of the explanations were given on Tuesday, because the prosecutor and his defenders are trying to undermine the appointment of the deputy disciplinary prosecutor of the Prosecutor General, Maciej Jaskulski, who accuses Parchimowicz in this case.

– Reliable and justified criticism is socially useful and expected. If this criticism is based on speculations or offensive or depreciating statements, the prosecutor may expect to be prosecuted, Jaskulski said in an interview with TVN24 and TVN journalists.

He added that in the case of prosecutor Parchimowicz, only some of the allegations concerned his statements. He informed that he could not talk about the content of the allegations to the public until they were disclosed in the course of the disciplinary hearing.

Parchimowicz: every disciplinary proceeding creates stress

– As for the allegations regarding work, there are three in total, but they relate to one. Namely, the fact that I was leaving work for a short time without giving up at my supervisor (…) and I questioned the decision to extend my delegation to the regional prosecutor’s office – said Parchimowicz.

“These disciplinary proceedings are painful for me. I have several dates (trial) a month and each disciplinary procedure causes stress, because I am not used to sitting on the side of the room that is intended for the accused – said Parchimowicz in an interview with TVN24.

Prosecutor Gembalczyk on support for Parchimowicz

Prosecutor Katarzyna Gembalczyk from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, a member of the Lex Super Omnia Association of Prosecutors, was present at the hearing.

– Today, we support prosecutor Parchimowicz as an audience, because he is held to disciplinary responsibility for actions, statements he made when he was the president of our association, when he reacted to certain actions of his superiors, statements that, in our opinion, often violated prosecutors’ independence and dignity of prosecutors – she said .

– We, as lawyers appointed to uphold the rule of law, speak out when we believe that our voice is necessary – she added.

The TVN24 reporter said that the case has been going on since 2018 and this time it was also postponed until February 9 next year.
