Disney drops Marvel lead Jonathan Majors following assault verdict

Disney has dropped Jonathan Majors from his main Marvel function as Kang the Conqueror after he was discovered responsible of reckless assault within the third diploma and of harassment, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. The decision comes after a two-week trial following Majors’ arrest final March after an altercation together with his ex-partner Grace Jabbari.

Marvel had been organising for Majors to be the subsequent supervillain for the franchise, however now the corporate is altering course. It’s unclear if Disney plans to recast Kang or change its deliberate storylines extra drastically. Majors had already appeared in each seasons of Loki and in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and was set to star in one of many subsequent deliberate Avengers motion pictures, subtitled The Kang Dynasty. Majors was accused of assaulting Jabbari. Although he was responsible of the 2 beforehand talked about costs, he was acquitted on costs of intentional assault within the third diploma and aggravated harassment within the second diploma, THR reports.

Majors’ sentencing can be February sixth, 2024.
