Cancer children have little reason to smile, hence the action of DJs to give them some joy. Music and fun help in therapy. Hirek Wrona knows that.
A party in the ward among patients during chemotherapy. It's all for them. On the occasion of the DJ day, oncological patients of the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw could try their hand at the console.
– The kids totally followed what Hirek does, what I do. We managed to make some nice bits – says Kacper Nowak, DJ Steve Nash.
Hirek Wrona is a journalist, DJ and publicist, as well as a former oncological patient. – The monotony of lying in the hospital is absolutely unbearable – says Hirek Wrona, a music journalist.
He knows it well, that's why he regularly engages in similar actions. “I know what it means to get sick, I know what it means to experience depression,” admits Hirek Wrona.
It's all about killing boredom. – If there are no events, it is simply boring, the children are closed in the rooms and look at the drip that flies – says Aneta Rostkowska -Rau from the heroes Foundation.
Moments that cannot be overestimated
This action is a detachment of children from a hospital and sometimes painful reality. – Moments of hope, moments of better mental well -being, they are not overestimated – says Magdalena Lange -RachwaÅ‚, a child psychologist.
Also for parents for whom a child's illness is a challenge and a burden. – If parents really have strength, have positive thinking, have a positive attitude, then they can pass it to the child at the moment – indicates Zofia MaÅ‚as, an oncologer and child -hematocoline from the Oncology and Oncological Surgery of Children and Youth at the Institute of Mother and Child.
– These initiatives, all, implemented here by the Foundation, are compatible – says Aniela Mach -Zama, Mother Amela.
The Hero Foundation has been supporting children with cancer for 16 years. Every smile is a wind in their sails. – We love what we do, and we see that our patients, pupils, their parents, are satisfied, we are growing, and actually I do not have 1.60 meters only 2.10 at least – says Aneta Rostkowska -Rau.

Ola has been sick since November. He feels good, but he misses what he likes the most. – I played football. I would like to come back to this as soon as possible – says Aleksandra, a patient.
Wiktoria would like to go home as soon as possible. – My dream? Be healthy and return to Ukraine – says Wiktoria, a patient.
Maybe the music allowed her to forget about the wars she and her country.
