The prosecution brought an indictment to the court against a four-year-old son suspected of cutting off the finger. According to the investigators, the woman wanted to free the child from the couch. – She did not exercise due care before cutting the sofa material and cut the thumb of the boy’s right hand – informs Alicja Macugowska-Kyszka from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin.

The indictment was referred to the District Court in Pyrzyce. A four-year-old boy was injured On December 9 at night in the Dolice commune (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). As reported by Alicja Macugowska-Kyszka from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin, the allegation that the woman heard was based on the evidence collected in this case and on the opinion of forensic experts.

– The allegation concerns a violation of the function of an organ of the body, which is the thumb of the right upper limb for a period of more than seven days. It happened while trying to free the finger of this child’s hand. The woman did not exercise due care before cutting the sofa material and cut her thumb, which resulted in cuts to the skin, tendons, muscles, vessels and finger nerves that required replantation, the prosecutor said.

She faces up to five years in prison

There was a party going on in the apartment at the time the incident happened. Sub-commissioner Krzysztof Wojsznarowicz, the press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Stargard, reported in December 2020 that the woman had nearly two per mille of alcohol in her blood at that time.

As Macugowska-Kyszka added, the woman now faces up to five years in prison.
