Investigators once again questioned Dominique Pélicot, a Frenchman sentenced to 20 years in prison for intoxication and repeated rape of his ex -wife Gisèle. Activities are related to two unsolved matters from years ago. The 72-year-old confessed to the harassment of one of the victims, but he denies any relationship with the other case.

The Dominique Pélicot prison sentenced to 20 years in December was re -questioned by the French police. This time the activities were not related to the crimes he committed against his ex -wife Gisèleand two things from years ago. One concerns the rape and murder of Sophie Narme, a young property agent that occurred in December 1991. The second is related to the assault on another young woman in May 1999.

As noted in an interview with French Radio Florence Rault, a lawyer representing Sophie Narme and the relatives of the victim, both matters combine many similarities. Women were young, dealt with the sale of real estate and were attacked during the meeting with the client who gave them a false name – lists the daily “Le Monde”.

Similarities have many questions

The newspaper also notes that the strong smell of ether was felt at the place of finding the corpse of Sophie Narme – a means with sleeping pills and anesthetics, which was used in the attack of May 1999, and both women were demolished according to the same scheme, i.e. from below up. – You have to be careful. There is a possibility that someone else has committed a crime at Sophie Narme, but similarities in the way they act, approach the victims and give many questions themselves – says Florence Rault.

Dominique Pélicot categorically denies any participation in the murder of Sophie Narme. However, he admits to the 1999 attack. The Frenchman told about his alleged course during the trial on rape and intoxication of his ex -wife. The 72-year-old confirmed that he tried to lead to intercourse with a young property agent. He stated, however, that he did not rape a woman ultimately. “I took off her shirt, shoes and pants, but nothing (more – ed.) I did,” he said.

Investigators from a specialized unit unresolved crimes covered both cases with a joint investigation in September 2022. As part of it, they have already questioned Pélicot in October 2023. In December of the last year, the Frenchman was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for intoxication and repeated rape of a former spouse and offering several dozen strangers to have intercourse with her when she was unconscious. Gisèle, who demanded open the trial to remove the stigma from the victims and redirect it to the perpetrators, became for many a symbol of courage.
