US President Donald Trump reported that Microsoft is conducting talks regarding the takeover of Tiktok – said the BBC station portal. He added that Trump is counting on the “tender war” about selling an application belonging to the Chinese company Bytedance.

He emphasized that Tiktok enjoys “great interest” of several companies.

Sales of Tiktoka in the USA

To this end, the previous president signed a regulation, which resulted in blocking the application in the USA. However, after a few hours, due to Trump's pressure, the ban on the Chinese company was postponed by 75 days to generate an agreement.
Despite the granting of the 75 -day postponement of the ban, Trump was the first president who began to directly press Bytedance to sell his application – reminded BBC.
In August 2020, Bytedance, he turned to Microsoft with a potential sales offer, which the general director of the American giant described as “the strangest thing.” Negotiations were unsuccessful.
Later, Tiktok chose Oracle as a potential partner, but then the contract was not finalized – BBC said.
Tiktoka's position
The world -popular Tiktok application belongs to the Bytedance company. In the e -mail to the TVN24 editorial office, the Polish Tiktoka Office pointed out that “neither Tiktok nor Mother – Bytedance is the property of China.”
“60 percent of shares in Bytedance have global investment funds (most based in the US), such as Sequoia Capital or Softbank, 20 percent belongs to the company's founders, and another 20 percent belongs, based on shares, to smaller investors and employees (several Thousands of them are permanently in Europe).
It has been added that “the headquarters of Tiktok are in Singapore and Los Angeles, and Bytedance Ltd. is registered on the islands of Cayman (Kajmany)”.
