President Donald Trump spoke before the US Congress. – It was more of the speech of Trump's candidate than the incumbent president – commented the professor and president of the Harlan Foundation Michał Urbańczyk. As he noted, the course of the speech showed a strong political polarization in the United States.
On Wednesday, the guest “you get up and you know” on TVN24 was Michał Urbańczyk, who referred to the first speech in this term of Donald Trumpwhich he gave during the combined session of both chambers of the American Congress. – It's hard to be surprised by this message. These types of speeches are addressed to Americans and Trump actually talked about what interests the US citizens – he admitted.
As the expert noted, it is for this reason that Trump raised foreign issues in the second part of his speech, while the topic Ukraine He was moved at its end. – Commentators pay attention to the very characteristic style of this speech that it was more of the speech of the Trump candidate than the incumbent president – he noted.
– We were dealing with several issues, which will probably be written in the annals of American parliamentarism, even asking one of the Congressmen of the Democratic Party. It has not happened so far to protest so much during the message. This is simply not a place for this – Urbańczyk explained.

“It shows a strong political polarization”
As the expert noted, “on the one hand we had an amazing unity of the Republican Party and absolute support.” – You can see that at least the Republicans want the Americans to see that Trump has their absolute support. On the other hand, we also had a lot of protests from the Democratic Party – he noted.
Urbańczyk pointed, among others, to some of the policies who founded jackets brightly symbolizing opposition to limiting reproductive rights and some politicians holding plates with various inscriptions such as “lie” or “falsehood”.
– There were really a lot of empty places. And some of the opposition politicians simply went out during the speech, often even ostentatiously standing back to Trump for a while, it also shows a strong political polarization – he admitted.
