Prime minister Donald Tusk He spoke in “Facts after Facts” on TVN24, among others, about current relations with the United States.

He assured that he was talking about this subject with the prime minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer, president France Emmanuel Macron or with a pretender for the office of the Chancellor German Friedrich Merz. When asked if the mentioned politicians create a common front regarding relations with America, he replied that “definitely yes”.

– This is all philosophy today to take advantage of all the opportunities, all possibilities, so that Europe's relations with the United States do not deteriorate. I would like to call it by name one sentence – (…) The reality is more difficult than it was before. This change is visible to the naked eye for everyone, not even for an expert, for a politician (but – ed.) For everyone without exception in the world. This geopolitical change – very massive – in Washington, in terms of the attitude of the United States, new administration, even to war, to Russiato Ukraineshe sets up completely new challenges – he pointed out.

The prime minister added that the reality is different, “but there is nothing to be offended on it, you just have to deal with it.” “Those who have something to offer, to tell Trump, should use all the possibilities,” he said. Tusk believes that for the new administration in Washington “not Europe is the center of the world, not Ukraine is the main problem.” – It is a shift towards the Pacific, it is China in the future, it is a matter of Israel and Iran – these are their priorities – he pointed out. – We feel this anxiety, it is a risk that it can be a cost of Ukraine, it can be a cost of the European Union, so also automatically at the expense of Poland. So here you have to be very vigilant, very concentrated. This is a very complicated game, you have to take it and skillfully lead – added the prime minister.

Tusk also spoke about the meeting planned for Friday Donald Trump and Wołodymyr Zelanski in Washington. The presidents of the US and Ukraine are to talk about a contract regarding access to minerals in Ukrainian territory.

When asked why this agreement is to be so important, he replied that “the truth is brutal – because President Trump expects this type of business, and Ukraine very much cares that America does not turn back to Ukraine.”
