When asked what he would have to “confess” about in terms of the ministry he heads, he mentioned issues related to “tidying up the National Center for Research and Development.” – It could be done faster, so when it comes to examining my conscience, I will definitely have something to present and, in accordance with the procedure, I will promise improvement – he announced.

Wieczorek admitted that “issues related to legislation, to the Higher Education Act” could also have been “done faster”.

“The disputes are very sharp”

The Minister also addressed the issues that differentiate the individual parties in the government coalition. He said that when it comes to women's rights, “the arithmetic is inexorable”. – I respect partners who have different goals in their programs, who do not accept such solutions, but the role of the four parties that co-create this government is to seek compromise. If someone does not agree with something, let's look for a compromise solution to at least take a step in the right direction – he appealed.

– The truth is that if the Left had 51 percent in the Polish parliament, women's rights issues would be the first bill we would vote on, but unfortunately that is not the case – he added.

He said that the health insurance premium issue “is currently being analyzed.” – The Minister of Finance has appointed a team of representatives from all groups in order to work out a compromise bill. (…) I have the impression that there is a consensus on this issue. Now it's just a matter of how to record it all in law, and I know that such work is underway – said Wieczorek.
