“The settlement of PiS is progressing more slowly because not everyone in the Coalition has understood that without settlement there will be no recovery of the Republic of Poland,” wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on X. Earlier, despite the disputes, the parliamentary regulations committee supported holding PiS MPs, including Jarosław Kaczyński, accountable.

Even before the vote on this matter, there were doubts whether the proposal to waive the immunities had sufficient support.

Hołownia on lifting Kaczyński's immunity: “I have doubts”TVN24

– Someone who is grieving – in a way that maybe I wouldn't – but is grieving longer, maybe shouldn't be provoked too much. Maybe we need to look at his reaction differently. I have serious doubts about how to behave as an MP, as a person, when voting on such a motion – admitted Hołownia.

The Marshal said that “today we should really deal with PiS where it spent millions and billions of zlotys – where it broke the law in an absolutely brazen way, destroying the state, and not consider the case in the Sejm about the destruction of the wreath.” – In my opinion, this is not the right direction at all – he added.

“For violating bodily integrity, not for plaques”

Poland 2050 also posted an entry on this topic on X.

“Immunity is removed for actions, not for name. That's why PL2050 supported the removal of Jarosław Kaczyński's immunity for violating bodily integrity, not for plaques on wreaths. We put respect for the state above current party wars,” the entry reads.
