It is necessary to collect, explain and check the sources of information regarding Antoni Macierewicz, including information regarding the disarmament of the Polish army, said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference. He said about the former head of the Ministry of National Defense that he “did things that dramatically weakened the defense capabilities of the Polish state.”

The head of government was asked at Tuesday's press conference about his statement from Monday's “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 that “the loop of information we collect is tightening around Macierewicz.”

Tusk said that “there is more and more information and it only needs to be sorted out, and this is what the commission for investigating Russian and Belarusian influence is to do, among others.”

– We really need to explain how on earth this man did things that dramatically weakened the defense capabilities of the Polish state, who began the next stage of his career with an attack on the headquarters of one of the NATO outposts in Poland, who introduced into the most sensitive places people who never hid their such radically pro-Russian sympathies, he said.

– So it's high time to collect this information, explain it and check the sources of information regarding Macierewicz. Also those regarding disarmament Polish army. And in this sense, in my opinion, this information will be disqualifying for Antoni Macierewicz. This is my opinion. But the commission is there to make it clear, in black and white, what happened and who is responsible for these events, directly and indirectly, said the head of government. – This gloomy shadow that Macierewicz casts on Poland and Poland's security must disappear. It can no longer be the case that someone, like Macierewicz, is playing cat and mouse with a large European country like Poland. This must end, he said.
