Donald Tusk, acting chairman of the Civic Platform, said in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 that “Poles badly need strong leadership in the opposition.” – I offer the Platform a strong leadership. It hurts sometimes, it is not always pleasant – he added.
PO leader Donald Tusk spoke in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 about the situation inside his party. – I came back here in a rather emergency situation, I am acting as the head of the Platform, but I decided that it is necessary to get this full mandate as soon as possible in order to put things in order – he said. He added that “there is neither head nor time for internal party games.”
Donald Tusk: I offer the Civic Platform strong leadership
– Poles really need strong leadership in the opposition. No endless negotiations, no small interests, no 16 parties, no offended leaders. Strong leadership is needed especially in the situation we are in today. I offer strong leadership to the Platform. It sometimes hurts, it is not always pleasant, but when I am confronted with those who rule Poland today, one must have determination, muscles and readiness for a serious fight, not smudging – said Tusk.
Tusk: you have to want to fight, you have to give up all of yourself
He was also asked if he was satisfied with the level of poll support for the Civic Platform (around 22-25 percent against around 35 percent for PiS).
– My plan was this – I come back to stop this fall or catastrophe of the Platform, and it was close. I assumed that by the end of the year we should achieve level 25 and the status of a force capable of taking on the challenge – pointed out Tusk.
He admitted that 25 percent support is not a dream come true, although there are many leaders who dream of such support. – One condition has to be met, you have to be willing to fight, you have to give up all of yourself – said the leader of the Civic Platform.
