The acting chairman of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, announced after the meeting of the Civic Coalition club that it would vote against when considering the bill on building security on the Polish-Belarusian border. – We will expect really real actions from all services and from this authority to seal the borders, and we will not support them in such, to put it mildly, ambiguous undertakings and ideas – he said. The Sejm started the second reading of the bill on Wednesday late in the evening.
The KO club will be against the special act on the construction of a dam on the border with Belarus – said PO leader Donald Tusk on Wednesday. He estimated that the intention of the authorities is to spend nearly PLN 2 billion without any control. – We will expect real actions to seal the borders – he stressed.
The parliamentary club of the Civic Coalition met in the Sejm on Wednesday evening. Donald Tusk, acting chairman of the Civic Platform, took part in the deliberations. According to KO deputies, one of the matters discussed was to be a bill on construction of a security on the Polish-Belarusian border. On Wednesday, the Sejm committees supported the bill, and late in the evening the Sejm started a discussion about it.
Donald Tusk: the KO club will be against the special act on the construction of the dam
Tusk told journalists after the meeting that PiS and the government had already been handed over all possible instruments to protect the border, including the state of emergency. – And more and more people are leaking across the border. If they know how to keep someone, they are women and children (…). We want a tight and safe border, and not bullying women and children, he said.
As Tusk said, “on Monday there was an idea to build a wall, specifically the idea of spending one billion six hundred million zlotys out of any control”. – They don’t want to build any walls. If they wanted to, they would start doing it. I would know how to do it, I have some experience in building various, sometimes very complicated infrastructures in Poland – he emphasized.
– This wall will not be built in one year or three years, because it is not the intention to build good, effective dams. Their intention is to make emotional performances and spend nearly two billion zlotys without any control – PO leader.
– We will expect really real actions from all services and from this authority to seal the borders, and we will not support them in such, to put it mildly, ambiguous undertakings and ideas – he said. When asked if KO would vote against the special act on the construction of the dam, he replied: – Definitely yes.
