Zbigniew Ziobro and his prosecutor’s office are conducting an investigation against me in connection with the accusation that, as prime minister, I limited the import of Russian coal – said the leader of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, during a meeting with voters in Rzeszów. The information about the initiation of the investigation was announced on Monday by the government television portal, posting a photo of the notification regarding the decision of the prosecutor’s office in this case. According to it, the investigation was initiated on April 11 from the report of Marek Falenta – the main character of the eavesdropping scandal.

The investigation was initiated on the abuse of powers by a public official – the then head of government Donald Tusk – on an undetermined date in the first half of 2014 “in order to obtain a financial benefit by entities trading in hard coal through an order without legal basis and without actual control of a commercial law entity, i.e. Składy Węgla spółka z oo, in order to force the cessation of coal imports from of the Russian Federation and thus acting to the detriment of the private interest of the above-mentioned company”.

As the prosecutor’s office wrote in the document posted by the portal, it is about paragraph 2 of Article 231 of the Criminal Code regarding the abuse of powers by an officer. It provides that if the perpetrator commits this act in order to achieve material or personal gain, he is subject to the penalty of imprisonment from one to 10 years.

Tusk on the “absurdity” of the prosecutor’s actions

Donald Tusk referred to the matter during Tuesday’s meeting with voters in Rzeszów. – Ziobro and his prosecutor’s office are conducting an investigation against me in connection with the accusation that, as prime minister, I limited the import of Russian coal – said the leader AFTER. – The absurdity of this is one thing, I have already got used to such actions of the PiS team, which at the same time arouse both laughter and sometimes despair – said Tusk. He noted that “it is extremely important that we combine such events into a certain whole, such as elections in the district of Niżna, as the action of the prosecutor’s office, as bold statements of entrepreneurs in Ropczyce.”

Tusk also assured KO parliamentarians that the formation would win the elections. – We will win these elections and not with one vote, but we must help people meet this one basic condition – not to be afraid, to openly say what we think about this team (ruling – ed.). And there are no places in Poland that are doomed to rule PiS – emphasized the leader of the Platform.

– They can try to make you, me, a fugitive, but we remember well that this film ends well and those who pursue will be held accountable for every evil they have done – said the PO leader, referring to the famous American sensational film “The Fugitive”. from 1993.
