After the end of the commission's meeting, its head, Dariusz Joński (KO), said that before the commission there was a man “who did not perform any functions, but decided on the date and manner of voting, he acted like a godfather.”

On Saturday morning, the Prime Minister Donald Tusk he wrote about the “fall of the century”. “35 years ago, to become a senator of 'Solidarity' elected by the nation, to end up as the godfather of the Solidarity Fund. Kaczyński responds

– When it comes to this godfather, I'm definitely overrated. I am not a father – Jarosław Kaczyński commented on Saturday at an election rally Ryszard Czarnecki in Września.

As he added, “this does not change the fact that this fund can settle everything it has done in a completely legal manner.” – Of course, you can think that this law was incorrect. It is another matter to criticize this law. At the same time, I don't think anyone will find anything that would be contrary to the law, said the PiS president, referring to the Justice Fund.

Kaczyński declared that “this entire campaign is an attempt to convince people that they (Civic Platform – ed.) were not the party of thieves who allowed the VAT gap in Poland to be 24 percent.” – As for the gap in fuel taxes, it is even difficult to calculate it, because customs officers were actually driven away from the cars they were supposed to inspect. And if there is anyone among you who thinks that it was a “thank you”, it means that we have very, very naive people here. I don't think it's a “thank you” – said Kaczyński.

He expressed the opinion that “it was the greatest theft committed in Poland after 1989.” – I think that even in the European ranking it would do well – he added. The PiS president stated that “the abuses and demoralization of the current ruling class throughout Europe, including Western Europe, are unfortunately very far-reaching.”

Justice Fund scandal

These words were spoken after the meeting of the PiS parliamentary team for settlements on Wednesday director of the Justice Fund department at the Ministry of Justice in 2020-2022, Tomasz Mraz said that most competitions under this Fund were conducted “in an unreliable manner” and the main decision-maker in this matter was the then Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobrohead of Sovereign Poland and current PiS MP. According to Mraz, due to irregularities, many foundations and crime victims did not receive the necessary support.

Mraz is one of the suspects in the investigation into the spending of funds from the Justice Fund, which is conducted by the National Prosecutor's Office. It announced at the end of March that it had brought charges against seven people in this case. – We charged two people earlier, which we did not inform about – said the spokesman for PK, Przemysław Nowak. The suspects include: former and current officials of the Ministry of Justice, dealing with the Fund, the main purpose of which, in principle, is to help victims of crime. Three people are under arrest.

On Thursday, the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General Adam Bodnar said that requests to waive immunities in connection with the Justice Fund case are being prepared. – I use the plural because there will be more than one – added the head of the Ministry of Justice.
