Marek Falenta is credible for PiS when he reports on Donald Tusk. When he talks about the recordings of Prime Minister Morawiecki, then he is no longer credible – said Krzysztof Hetman from PSL in “Kawa na Ława”, commenting on the prosecutor’s investigation into the head of PO. KO MP Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz spoke of “an act of desperation in Lukashenko’s style”. – During the war, raising social awareness always makes sense – this is how the actions of the prosecutor’s office were explained by Deputy Minister Olga Semeniuk-Patkowska.

Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation on the abuse of powers in 2014 by the then Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The notification was submitted in November last year by Marek Falenta and it referred to the inspection in the company Składy Węgla. In a statement sent to TVN24, the prosecutor’s office stipulated that the proceedings were not conducted “against” Tusk, but “in the case”. As we read, the prosecutor’s office “at this stage does not prejudge the further course of the proceedings, and does not plan to interrogate Donald Tusk in the proceedings.”

MARK FALENTA. WHO IS THE MAN WHO WAS BEHIND THE BUSINESS AFFAIR

The investigation into Donald Tusk was discussed on Sunday by the guests of the “Kawa na Ława” program on TVN24: Deputy Minister of Development, Labor and Technology Olga Semeniuk-Patkowska (PiS), Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz (KO), Paulina Hennig-Kloska (Poland 2050) Robert Biedron (New Left), Andrzej Dera from the Chancellery of the President and Krzysztof Hetman (PSL).

Semaniuk-Patkowska: this is not harassment of Donald Tusk

– During the ongoing war, raising social awareness always makes sense – said Deputy Minister Semeniuk-Patkowska. – Logic is connected primarily with the fact that in 2014 Donald Tusk was prime minister and managed many topics related to Polish-Russian relations – she added.

The deputy minister assessed that the opposition’s claims that the investigation initiated by the prosecutor’s office concerned only Donald Tusk were an “over-interpretation”. – It concerns the entire sphere, especially economic, of Polish-Russian ties that took place under various types of contracts that were concluded – said Semeniuk-Patkowska.

– Please give the society the opportunity to raise social awareness, so that they can access information related to Polish-Russian relations – she appealed, emphasizing once again that the investigation is not “looking for hooks” on Donald Tusk.

Gasiuk-Pihowicz on “an act of desperation in Lukashenka’s style”

In the opinion of MP Gasiuk-Pihowicz, “using people like Marek Falenta to attack the leader of the opposition is an act of desperation on the part of PiS in the style of Lukashenko.” – Mr. Falenta is a criminal convicted in the wiretapping scandal. He has already helped PiS to power once, apparently he is trying for the second time – she said.

She added that Falenta “will attack Donald Tusk for trying to save Polish mines from the flood of Russian coal.” – This is what Ziobro’s politicized prosecutor’s office does – she concluded.

– It all comes together as one. You have an entrepreneur who imports Russian coal, you have a Russia that wants to increase imports of Russian coal to Poland, you have a party that triples the import of Russian coal during the first years of government. And everyone has one interest – to remove Donald Tusk from politics, said the MP. In her opinion, “this is a case sewn with very thick threads by the politicized prosecutor’s office, which wants to attack Prime Minister Tusk, giving credence to the testimony of the criminal.”

Biedroń: If anyone is rubbing their hands today, it’s Putin

– The elections are coming, we all know that the witch hunt must begin and it has begun – commented Robert Biedroń.

He said that the investigation against Tusk is conducted by “the prosecutor’s office, which is completely politicized and dependent on the whim of the justice minister.” “We’re dealing with a pisokratura, not a prosecutor’s office,” he said. He added that “PiS, in order to maintain power, will not hesitate to use any tool, especially the prosecutor’s office.”

In Bideronia’s opinion, “Falenta is a compromised man, a criminal who served his sentence and recently left.” – This is a guy who traded in Russian coal, did obscure business with the Russian Federation, was well received in the Kremlin. You have to stay as far away from such people as possible, said the leader of the New Left.

In his opinion, “we are dealing with an extremely strange situation in which Law and Justice instead of defending Polish interests, he launches Mr. Falenta once again and uses him for political purposes.” – If anyone is rubbing their hands today, it is definitely Putin in the Kremlin – said Biedroń.

Dera about Falent: he is not a fully credible man

Andrzej Dera from the Chancellery of the President stated that since the prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into Tusk, it “apparently has some premises”. – If you are looking for a key, first we had a wiretapping scandal, the main actor of which was Mr. Falenta, and then there were actions that only this one company was controlled (associated with Falenta – ed.). And there were a dozen or so entities that imported (Russian) coal – said Dera.

The host, Konrad Piasecki, reminded here that in a letter sent in 2019 to the president Andrzej Duda from a Spanish prison, Marek Falenta blackmailed Law and Justice and threatened that if he had to serve his sentence, he would tell the whole truth about the wiretapping scandal and disclose a list of 12 people – mainly PiS politicians and CBA officers – who were involved in it.

When asked whether he therefore believes that Falenta is credible, Dera replied: – In my opinion, he is not entirely credible. Ask the prosecutor that question.

Hetman: who prompted Falenta to submit such a notification after nine years?

– Falenta is credible for PiS when he reports on Donald Tusk. When he talks about Morawiecki’s recordings, then he is no longer credible – said Krzysztof Hetman from PSL. In his opinion, “it’s not about catching the bunny, it’s about chasing it.” – It is important that Donald Tusk can be involved in another scandalous situation – he assessed.

According to him, the key question is “who prompted Falenta to submit such a notification after nine years?”.

– After nine years, the prosecutor’s office is taking up this case just before the elections. There’s definitely a bottom line. The point is to add another burden to Donald Tusk, said the PSL politician.

Hennig-Kloska: I see only one personal goal of Mr. Falenta

It’s a nice comedy. I have the impression that PiS politicians were first happy that Falenta was complaining about Tusk, and only then did they read what he was complaining about – commented Paulina Henning-Kloska from Poland 2050.

The MP wondered what motivated Falenta. – Maybe he decided that this was the last straight line to extract some compensation from the Polish state. Hence, he submits a notification, and the prosecutor’s office passes it and takes it up, she said.

She noted that “Mr. Falenta’s personal goal sees only one.” – I think he cares less about getting Donald Tusk and more about getting personal benefits, because he belongs to businessmen who stick to power, blackmail it, and he has benefited from it for years – assessed Henning – A ball.
