All of us in Poland are moved by the information about the fate of the former deputy head of the Ministry of Diplomacy Piotr Wawrzyk, we wish him recovery – said on Friday in Skarżysko-Kamienna (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship), PO leader Donald Tusk.

Tusk met with residents of the region on Friday and referred to the information that former Minister of Foreign Affairs Piotr Wawrzyk was hospitalized.

– All of us in Poland are moved by the information about the fate of former minister (Piotr – ed.) Wawrzyk. The news that is reaching us is not that dramatic. Certainly – and I say this from the heart – we all wish (him – ed.) recovery, because we do not wish misfortune on anyone, we do not wish anyone a mental breakdown or any more serious matters. It seems that nothing tragic happened, which is good, Tusk emphasized.

Tusk: a tragedy happened to this man

He added that what we are witnessing today “is all politics in the lens PISKaczyński and Morawiecki.

– A tragedy happened to this man. We have been saying for many days, we knew that PiS, as often in such situations, is looking for a scapegoat or a pillar on which to blame it later. And today they say that he is a victim of the opposition, Tusk said.

– Contrary to what PiS television and PiS propaganda say, I have not ruled in Poland for the last eight years. It was not me who arrested Mr. Wawrzyk’s closest associate in April in connection with some shady dealings. It wasn’t me who fired Mr. Wawrzyk – it was Morawiecki and Kaczyński. And today they are trying to suggest that this man’s drama is the opposition’s fault or, classically, Tusk’s fault – he said.
