Mayor Wojciech Sawa banned the protest, which Polish carriers wanted to resume on Monday at the border in Dorohusk (Lubelskie Voivodeship). The protesters had been blocking the crossing since November 6, but on Monday (December 11) they had to leave the area because the mayor dissolved the assembly. They appealed against this decision to the court, but the court has 30 days to consider the case. The carriers’ protest continues in two other places.

– I issued a ban on the assembly. I have to be consistent – says Wojciech Sawa, the mayor of the Dorohusk commune, in an interview with tvn24.pl.

His decision means that Polish carriers will not be able to resume the protest near the border crossing in Dorohusk on December 18, as they had planned.

The court has not yet considered the complaint

The carriers left the area on Monday. However, the road was blocked by a broken truck standing across the road. It was towed away on Tuesday and the route is now passable.

The protesters filed a complaint to the court against the mayor’s decision to dissolve the assembly. There is no resolution yet.

– The waiting time for check-in has increased to 350 hours. This is due to the fact that since midnight, carriers have intensified their protest and are now allowing two vehicles per hour towards Ukraine instead of four, she said.

They demand, among others: introduction of commercial permits

Carriers have been protesting since November 6. They demand, among others: introducing commercial permits for Ukrainian companies to transport goods, excluding humanitarian aid and supplies for the Ukrainian army; suspension of licenses for companies established after the explosion war in Ukraine and carry out their inspection. There is also a proposal to eliminate the so-called electronic queue on the Ukrainian side.

It is also hot in Medyka, where farmers from the “Scammed Village” organization have been protesting since November 23. They demand, among others: corn subsidies. They announce that they will protest until the end.
