The RCB alert in connection with intense, torrential rainfall has been extended to other provinces. Services and meteorologists warn of floods and floods. Extreme downpours in Poland are forecast in connection with the passage of the Genoese Boris low over Central Europe.
“Attention! At night and tomorrow (13/14.09) intense, torrential rainfall. Possible flooding. Do not approach swollen rivers” – SMS warnings with this content were sent to recipients in the following provinces:
- Silesian;
- Lesser Poland;
- Lower Silesian;
- Opole;
- Subcarpathian;
- Świętokrzyskie;
- Lublin;
- Lodz;
- Masovian (counties: Białobrzegi, Garwolin, Grójec, Kozienice, Lipsko, Przysucha, RadomRadom, Szydłowiec and Zwoleń);
- lubuskie (Wschowa district);
- Greater Poland (counties: Gniezno, Gostyń, Jarocin, Kalisz, KaliszKępiński, Kolski, KoninKonin, Krotoszyn, Leszno, LesznoOstrów, Ostrzeszów, Pleszew, Rawicz, Słupca, Środa, Śrem, Turek and Września).
Earlier on Friday, the alert did not cover the following voivodeships: Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, Lublin and Mazowieckie.
In the event of a flood risk, you should:
- listen to warning and emergency messages on local radio or television;
- move valuable items to the upper floors of the building,
- make sure your mobile phone is fully charged at all times,
- move vehicles from the property to non-threatened locations,
- secure the building and prepare sandbags.
