Independent television Dozhd has been granted permission to broadcast in the Netherlands, Russian media reported, citing the decision of the Dutch media regulator. In December last year, the station lost its license to broadcast in Latvia after a high-profile dispute over one of the programs, where words were spoken about “improving the living conditions” of Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine.

The decision of the Dutch regulator was issued at the end of December. The regulator announced that it had granted permission to TVR Studios for commercial broadcasting in the form of the Dozhd TV channel. Obtaining the license will allow the independent Russian station to resume broadcasting on cable television in the European Union countries.

Independent Russian media recalled that Korostelov appealed to viewers to send messages to the station’s special e-mail address dedicated to topics related to the Russian army. – We answer almost everything. Many of the stories sent to our mail and Telegram are published. We hope that we have been able to help many military men, for example, with equipment or simply with basic needs at the front, he said on the air.

Korostelov was released. The editor-in-chief of TV Tikhon Dziadko admitted that his statements “give the viewer the impression that the Dozhd channel helps the army Russia“, however – as he assured – the station does not do this in any way.

After losing his license, Dożd announced that he intended to continue working and that he would receive a license in another country. Before broadcasting on Latvia the station planned to launch studios in as well GeorgiaFrance and the Netherlands.
