The war in Ukraine affects the behavior of the Germans. Many of them save energy, according to a Yougov study. More than half of the respondents reduced the number of electric devices in standby mode.
The effects of the Russian attack on Ukraine result in increased energy savings in Germany – shows the Yougov survey for dpa. Overall, 39 percent of participants reduced their energy consumption since the beginning of the war.
11 percent of respondents reduced their energy use at the very beginning of the Russian attack (11 percent) or in the last four weeks (28 percent). A further 27 per cent say they pay attention to lower energy consumption anyway, but have not cut it since the beginning of the war.
As it follows from poll49 percent of energy savers take shorter or cooler showers. More than half (53 percent) reduced the number of electrical appliances in standby mode.
More than a third of energy savers (35 percent) either want to have their heating inspected or have already done so. In turn, only one in ten (10 percent) has limited streaming of movies or series, and 18 percent. cooks less.
