The provisional driving license in the mObywatel application is to be launched on August 7. The solution will be rolled out in phases, with general availability on August 21. This is the result of the announcement of the Minister of Digitization, Janusz Cieszyński, published on Friday.
On Friday, Monitor Polski published a communiqué of the Minister of Digitization Janusz Cieszyński on extending the function of the mObywatel application with a temporary driving licence. “The date of implementation of technical solutions enabling the transfer, collection and sharing of data from the central register of drivers for the purpose of creating and sharing a temporary electronic driving license and servicing a temporary electronic driving license using the mObywatel application is set for August 7, 2023, except that the day of general sharing and servicing of the temporary electronic driving license using the mObywatel application, using these technical solutions, is set for August 21, 2023.” – we read in the message.
Temporary driving license in the mObywatel application
Changes to the mObywatel application were announced by Minister Cieszyński during a press conference on Thursday. – On August 7, a temporary driving license starts in the mObywatel application – indicated the head of the MC.
Minister Cieszyński explained that the provisional driving license is such that when we pass the exam, the examiner will enter a positive result and for 30 days waiting for the release of the plastic document, we can drive on this electronic document.
He reminded that today in Poland there is no obligation to carry a driving license with you. – On the other hand, we want young people to be able to enjoy the newly acquired rights as soon as possible – explained Cieszyński.
– Today we are de facto announcing that after passing the exam, you can get behind the wheel and return home with your newly acquired rights – emphasized the head of the MC. – This is a function that will certainly be useful to citizens – assessed Janusz Cieszyński.
– At the beginning, we will start with a small group and gradually, on August 21 at the latest, we will make this function available to everyone – emphasized the Minister of Digitization.
