Changes in driving test exams?
To gain the right to drive a car, you need to pass two exams: theoretical and practical. The latter consists of three parts: preparation for driving (checking the technical condition of the vehicle), tasks in the maneuvering field (so -called arc and hill) and road traffic. However, the idea appeared that this second point delete from the task list. Until 30 percent future drivers are covered with exams in the maneuvering field. Such a change is suggested by MPs Wiesław Różyński and Adam Dziedzic from PSL.
Poland has a outdated system?
“Currently, Poland belongs to the few countries in the EU, where maneuvering skills are still required in the designated square as part of the exam. Drivers' training and examination system, dating from the 1960s-70s, is outdated” – they write in the interpellation to the Ministry of Infrastructure.” EU regulations do not require such tests, which prompted most of the countries to resign from this stage ” – they emphasize. And they are right, because the so -called square is not mandatory, among others in Germany, Ireland and Belga. However, it still applies in the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary.
Unnecessary skills?
“The International Estate Organization, associating entities and units responsible in individual countries for the process of examining candidates for drivers, indicates that exercises on the maneuvering square do not have a significant impact on the safety and skills of future drivers. According to them, a better solution is training in real street traffic conditions” – argue. “Their assumptions seem to be confirmed by the practice and skills of young drivers, especially from smaller towns, who cannot find themselves while driving in high traffic. (…) Too often, students focus on learned schemes The steering wheel revolutions, instead of observing and adapting maneuvers to a specific situation, “they add.
What will the Ministry of Infrastructure do?
MPs pointed out that in November a public procurement appeared on the pages of the Ministry of Infrastructure to perform the study “Analysis of existing solutions in selected road safety areas in some EU member states”. Therefore, they turned to the minister with questions: “Have the ministry have already received the ordered report? What conclusions are from it? Are the next steps planned adapting the Polish training and examination system of drivers to the current situation? “. For now, the ministry has not answered.
