Duchess Kate, wife of the British heir to the throne, Prince William, announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and is currently in the early stages of treatment. In the recording, she admitted that this news was a “huge shock” for her. She also spoke about “an extremely difficult few months.” However, she noted that she “feels good.”

In a video posted by Kensington Palace on social media, the 42-year-old duchess said she had undergone abdominal surgery in January. She noted that at that time it was not known that she had cancer.

– However, tests carried out after the surgery showed the presence of cancer – she said. Kate added that she is undergoing chemotherapy and the treatment is in the early stages. She did not specify what type of cancer it was.

– This news was, of course, a huge shock. “William and I did everything we could to work through it and face it in private, for the sake of our family,” Kate explained. She added that she needed time to recover after a serious surgery and to be able to start cancer treatment. – But most importantly, we needed time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that was most suitable for them and to assure them that everything would be fine – said the duchess.
