Duchess Kate underwent abdominal surgery in mid-January. In March, she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment. In a statement on Monday She said she had completed her course of chemotherapy. “As the summer draws to a close, I cannot describe how relieved I am to have finally completed my chemotherapy,” the duchess said. “The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate through stormy waters and an unfamiliar path,” she added.

The Duchess said that living with a cancer diagnosis is “complicated, frightening and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.” She stressed that despite completing chemotherapy, her “road to full recovery is long” and that she “must continue to take each day as it comes.”
