Kensington Palace has published the first photo of Duchess Kate since her surgery in mid-January. In the photo, which – as we read – was taken by Prince William, she is accompanied by her three children. The photo was published by the world’s most important photo agencies. However, on the same day, at least two withdrew it due to suspicions that it had been modified contrary to standards.

In the photo – which was allegedly taken this week by Prince William – she is seen sitting in a chair, smiling Duchess Kate accompanied by their three children, princes Charlotte, Louis and George.

“Thank you for your kind wishes and constant support over the last two months. I wish everyone a happy Mother’s Day,” we read on the couple’s social media profile, where the photo was published. In the UK, Mother’s Day is celebrated on March 10.

The photo – provided by Kensington Palace – was published by the most important photo agencies in the world. However, on the same day, at least two withdrew them from their archives. This step was taken, among others, by the Associated Press, which explained that it appeared to have been modified “in a way that does not meet AP standards.”

Duchess Kate’s surgery

Kate, 42, has not been seen in public since Christmas, although the US gossip site published an unauthorized paparazzi photo of her earlier this week.

In mid-January, the Duchess was admitted to a private clinic in London, where she underwent abdominal surgery, after which she remained in hospital for almost two weeks. Kensington Palace did not reveal any details about the surgery, except to clarify that it was planned in advance and was not due to cancer. It was then reported that the duchess was not expected to return to public duties before Easter. At the same time, the Palace informed that the duchess “feels well”.

Speculations about her health intensified when in February Prince William resigned at the last minute from participating in a ceremony commemorating the former king who died last year Greece – and at the same time his godfather – at Windsor Castle due to “personal matters”.
